One of the prolific leaders in the Port Elizabeth Church of Christ has committed suicide. Details sketchy. Will post update as soon as possible.

I don't know the circumstances surrounding Rods death but I do know it has left many feeling very hollow.
I was baptised by Rod and he was such an awesome friend and brother in Christ. I don't believe any words I write here will mark the sadness I feel in my heart.
I believe a tragic event like this will shake any church to the roots and raise many questions inside and outside the church but I just hope that people use this time to focus on the long list of Christians Rod helped leave behind.
Rod, I love you so much man. I am sorry I couldn't be there to help lift some of the weight off your shoulders. I can never thank you enough for the blessing of eternal life which you played such a big part in helping me receive.
Rod was an old neighborhood friend whom never uttered a bad word about anyone. He had love in his heart for all and always a smile on his face that lit the sky when he was around. My thoughts and prayers go out to Rods' family. I am truly sorry for such a great loss.
