Dear Rod's Family- First, I am very sorry to hear about Rod even in 2017. I grew up in Syracuse with Rod and played summer baseball with him down in the Valley. We attended different high schools, and not that we were all that close as far as hanging out together I considered him a friend. I had noticed a photo of a stranger that looked a lot like Rod and it jogged my memory of him and decided to search the internet to see what Rod might be up to these days. I was saddened to hear this news. He was always an upbeat kid and was kind to everyone around him. When I ran track against him in high school he was cheering me on. You don't see an apposing team member rooting for the other side, but that was Rod for you. I know this post is way past timely, but it sounds like he found his true calling and happiness in South Africa. Thank you for creating this page and again my deepest sympathies. Regards--Mark Riley
